With the introduction of Smart and Modern Projectors, it is so much easy to connect them to any device. However, we will also show you how to connect your phone to older Projectors (Which doesn’t have wireless features, USB ports, or HDMI ports).
We have already mentioned in our Projector Buying Guide that you should also check the Connectivity Type and Wireless features before purchasing a Projector. However, if you already own a Projector, you can use any of the Wired or Wireless Connection options we described below.
How to Connect Phone to Projector Wirelessly:
Nowadays, most devices can be connected Wirelessly. Moreover, most users prefer Wireless Connectivity more as it is hassle-free. More and more people are opting for Wireless Mouse, Keyboards, Printers, and Wireless file transfers.
Therefore, you will find the Wireless Connectivity option in almost all modern Projectors. However, detecting what Wireless features your Projector has is kind of difficult.
For wired connections, you can look at the back end of the Projector to see which ports are available. But, we cannot spot Wireless features physically. For that, you need to check the user manual, product website, or contact customer support.

1. Built-in Bluetooth:
Almost all Projectors manufactured in the past couple of years have a Bluetooth feature.

- Turn on the Bluetooth option in your Projector through a dedicated button or remote control.
- Now, go to the Bluetooth option in your Phone Settings and search for any devices.
- You can see your Projector model or name in the available devices list.
- Select the Projector, and you are connected to it.
2. Bluetooth Adapter:
So, if your Projector doesn’t even have a Built-in Bluetooth feature, you can use an external solution. You can get a Bluetooth Dongle and follow the above method to connect Phone to Projector. Note that, your Projector should at least have a USB port.
3. How to Connect Phone to Projector using Built-in WiFi:
Most modern smart Projectors have a Built-in WiFi feature.
- So, you should simply connect the Projector and Phone through the same WiFi.

5. Screen Cast:
Screen Cast devices let you cast your Mobile Screen to the Projector Wirelessly. Most of them use a USB or HDMI connection. Some need both. So, it is not completely Wireless. You still need to have HDMI and USB ports on your Projector.
However, it is a one-time installation. And, you don’t have to place the mobile near the Projector. So, it is better than connecting your Phone through cables.
- First, you need to get a Casting device like AnyCast.
- Now, insert the cables in the Projector ports.
- As soon as you turn on the Projector, you will get a settings page from the device (Which also contains the password).

Although most people are opting for Wireless connections, a few people still stick to the Wired Connection methods. Some people use Wired Connections because they have old devices that do not have Wireless features. But, some people prefer Wired Connections because they are more stable, swift, and safe.
1. USB C to USB A:
You get the USB C to USB A Cable along with the Smartphone for Charging and File Transfers. But, do you know you can also use it to connect your phone to the Projector? Well, now you do.
After connecting both the devices, you need to enable the option in your phone to allow file transfers.

Even some Projectors have USB C ports. Therefore, you can use a USB C to USB C. You can get one on online stores at a reasonable price.
3. USB C to HDMI Cable:
HDMI is another popular connectivity option. Thesedays, Computers, TVs, and all Media devices have HDMI ports because it is a High Definition Multimedia Interface cable.
So, if you have a modern Projector, it must have an HDMI port. Usually, you might receive an HDMI to HDMI cable along with the Projector Accessories. But, you cannot connect it to your phone.
